First Mailing was an early adopter of paper wrapping, an eco-friendly direct mailing solution, with an initial investment in 2021. Since launching the service there has been a significant transition of customers moving from traditional poly wrap to paper wrap.
Demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions is only increasing and, as a result, First Mailing is delighted to confirm its commitment to increased capacity through further investment in a second paper wrapping line.
First Mailing’s managing director, Stuart Searle, said:
“Our investment commitment to an additional paper wrapping line will enable us to meet the demand in this highly sought-after direct mail solution. We know that paper is the future as we see the preference for sustainability grow.”
The new machine will be very similar to the one installed in 2021, but with the addition of inline colour inkjet. Inline printing is ideally suited to last-minute, small areas of print, such as logos, straplines and special offers. The ability to print these areas of print in full colour saves time as it negates the need to pre-print the paper wrap offline which can add a couple of days to the production of branded packaging.
Stuart continued:
“I’m excited that we will be able to offer inline colour printing on our new paper wrap line. It reduces turnaround times for our customers and enables them to utilise the unique branding capability offered by paper wrapping.”
The increased paper wrapping capacity will also mean an expansion in staffing levels. First Mailing is recruiting apprentices as well as additional admin support.
